WTB: Amiga Piccolo Video Card

Hola mis Amigans,

I'm in the market for a Piccolo graphics card, created by Ingenieurbüro Helfrich in Germany back in 1993.

Ideal:
- 2MB
- Recapped

But I'd settle for an original 1MB card as long as it works. I would pay market value, or potentially offer a brand new zz9000 in trade. Maybe.

PM me if you'd like to negotiate.

I don't have one, but, have you considered one of these?

I bought one a few years back and it uses the Piccolo drivers in Picasso96 if I remember right. 2mb and I think it even uses a more modern Cirrus Logic chip.

Have you used yours? Does it perform well?

Sys reqs state 25Mhz recommended; I'm at 16Mhz. Hmmm... super interesting (and far less expensive, I'm sure). I'll have to research it. Thanks for the info.

Have one in my Phoenix.

It’s a card very similar to a Picasso II or SD.

Works quite well.

So, the reason I'm staying away from the Picasso II in particular is because I'm hunting for my A3000. And with the 3000, the Picasso II sounds like it is rather slow. One of my friends, EzdineG said, "The P2 would work on the 3000 fine, but it is so slow you’ll quickly regret the purchase."

He went on to say, "The flicker fixer on the P4 is world class."

That said, I have another friend who has a P4, Piccolo and the new zz9000. According to him, both the P4 and zz9000 are good cards, however:
the thing I still love about the piccolo is the raw pass through of the native modes. You see exactly what the Amiga puts out when you aren’t on an rtg screen. Picasso4/zz9000 both intercept they output from the video slot, and interpret/modify it to a degree. As evidenced by this problem with overscan screwing up.
I'm going to his house tonight to try and see all 3 in action to compare for myself. But on its face the Piccolo sounds a lot like what I'm looking for. Albeit, these seem really hard to find.

The card Obitus recommended sounds awesome, but also sounds more angled towards the 2000 which I don't plan on upgrading.

Well the Kryoflux Card does exactly that. Pass through the original Video Signal.
I have an Indivision ECS between Amiga and Kryoflux cars. It literally switches between the two.

I love my Matze Graka card...I use it on my A2000 w/ Blizzard 2060.
