Hi!

I'm Mixel / Michael and I'm only recently getting back into the Amiga after many years absense, largely inspired by youtubers and all the great amiga twitter accounts etc.

I'm mostly interested in pixel graphics and gaming, though it's been a lot of fun recovering my old HDD contents and finding old stuff I made with my brother. So much weird AMOS junk. I've been collecting boxed amiga games even when I couldn't actually play them outside of emulation.. For some reason! So it's nice to have a working set up again.

One of my biggest regrets is all the old amiga stuff i got rid of along the way.. A1200t/Apollo 040/16Mb with a squirrel SCSI ZIP drive would have come in really handy now.. :( I only have a ram expanded Escom era A1200 at the moment and am in the process of updating it to my taste. It's surprisingly not *that* slow as long as i dont try to do DTP etc.

Back in the day we had Dragon, Amstrad, ST then Amiga 500+, then I got my first fully my own computer, an A1200HD (with a ~70?! mb HDD? if I remember correctly!) That machine is long gone sadly but I really missed something about the Amiga. At least I still have all it's data!

Looking forward to a lot of messing around in DPaint. This seems like a really friendly place!

Welcome, Mixel! Thanks so much for taking the plunge and joining. And as you uncover your old work (or create new) we love photos! Share away, and I really look forward to seeing you around the site.

Cheers

Welcome nice to read your story and look forward to hearing more. I think most of us know where you're coming from in regards to getting rid of stuff in the past. I wish I still had all my Amiga gear from those days. Although I kept some things most I did not.

Thanks for the welcomes! It's great you're interested in pictures, I should have a lot of those in future at least! While I’m watching diskdoctor fail to figure out what’s up with my partitions, here’s the absolute mess that is my Amiga set up currently. 😂 It has potential once I’ve tidied up, maybe!

I think I might end up with 4, 4GB partitions at this rate as these weird things didn’t happen when I had the 4GB card.. 3.1.4 supports big partitions, so maybe I’m just doing something daft. 😅
