Just for the record: you are talking about the Bodega Bay. The other bay was from Star Trek II ;) .

And it's a +1 for me with the Phoenix board in total. Were it not for the Phoenix Inprobably wouldn't have gotten back to Amiga.

Well, the breakout box was a bit of a hack, the original interface card was basically a serial port (all the MIF-* cards), with all the circutry needed in the breakout box, this is why things like the C64 could interface to it easily, and why I dont quite get that the amiga never had an card to talk to the breakout box.. Later all the breakout box circutry was put on the interface card (MPU-IPC-* cards, music quest cards, midiman cards) and the breakout box is not needed.

Its so odd amiga never had a card. Apple II, C64, MSX, FM Towns, etc.. ST had midi built in... Such a shame, and missed opportunity when you look back at it.

MIDI effectively is only serial. So if you have issues it could be the cabling.
