Hey everyone,

After meeting mattsoft here in Seattle a few times and once down in Portland, I couldn't take it anymore. It's time to make a real Commodore club like back in the day. I'm still working out the details on the venue, but I think it's going to work out one way or the other.

The name I came up with is the Seattle Commodore Computer Club. Or, pronounced "Sea-sea-sea-sea". ;)
I've got a quickie site up:
sea-ccc.org

This will give a few of us in the area the opportunity to meet in person on a semi-regular basis. Up to this point, Matt and I would stand out in my office parking lot and talk for an hour or so, often in the cold and/or rain. No more. We always wanted to talk more, but ... you know. Work.

At the SEA-CCC events we'll discuss scene news, mods, hacks, games, demo hardware ... whatever. 8-bits and 16-bits welcome (and non C= too).

And if you're not around Seattle but happen to be visiting, do let us know either here on AmigaLove or over on sea-ccc.org. If there's enough lead time we might be able to get you into a meet-up we have planned, or create a custom one on the fly, which would be awesome.

More on this soon.

I know precisely who I'm going to be visiting if my travels take me to the Pacific Northwest in the future! ;)

Good job intric8, this is great news!

I'd come to a meet, but it's quite a drive. ;)

Great work getting this off the ground Intric8! I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes. Who knows, maybe I can make it over from Victoria sometime :)

OMG Alterus, if you are able to make it down... we'd do a solid C64 hour (or two!) in your honor. It wouldn't be hard - we all adore 64. Make it so, my friend. I'll be sure to keep you up-to-date with future event dates. :)

Which makes sense since C64 is like respecting your Elders around these parts ;)

It was just me and Eric but we represented the 64 and Amiga (and even Apple). A couple of photos here: http://www.sea-ccc.org/blog/

For the next meeting, I'm planning to bring my Mega ST 2 and Amiga 1000 and link them with a null modem cable for some hot head-to-head cross platform multiplayer action of Stunt Car Racer and Lotus 2!

Meetup #2 is tonight! As it stands right now, looks like there will be 5 attendees including myself - which is just amazing! that's 150% in attendance compared to the fist meeting. :)

We'll have:
  • C64 equipped with a 1541, Ultimate II cart and 1702.
  • Amiga 1000 Phoenix, 1084S monitor
  • C64 versions of Mail Order Monsters, Archon and M.U.L.E.; Amiga MindWalker
  • Atari XEGS console/games, another 1702 monitor
  • Lynx console
Gonna be fun!
