I'll put up with the bugs and patches in good 'ole 3.1 to keep the Commodore Copyright in the titlebar and the checkmark logo on the boot screen.

For some reason seeing "Copyright Hyperion..." doesn't do it for me.

I thought I was alone here. I can’t agree more.

Just purchased a copy for my Amiga 600! Now I need to find a way to get the Kickstart ROM onto a physical chip!

Me too! I felt kind of gross when I saw in on GuruMeditations video earlier today. Would it be possible to change that somehow? I've seen people talking about making their own kickstarts. That screen must be just a graphic, right?

The guy responsible for the Remus package is working on it. So that at least you can make your own ROM with it.

And yes it's possible to patch all these data. I can't, though.

I bought 3 copies (A500/A600/A2000 verison, A4000D version and A4000T version). The A500/A600/A2000 version is for my Amithlon system as it was released on a modified A2000 Kickstart from what I believe. The others are for the Amiga systems I have.

I also (along with a friend) covered the cost of Doobrey (ROMSplit & Remus fame) getting his own copies of the A500/A600/A2000, A3000, A4000D and A4000T WB/KS 3.1.4 sets (he said he had access to A1200 already) to help him updating his tools to work with the new Kickstarts.

Wanting to see some more development on the 68k side of Amiga....so the more sales they get the more a possibility it will get some more tweaks/enhancements.

Currently running a modified (thanks to Doobrey for a test preview ROMSplit) A500/A600/A2000 3.1.4 kickstart on my Amithlon system. I had to remove the newer battmem.resource and battclock.resource modules and replace them with the Amithlon versions for me to be able to save Time settings. I followed the script for updating a 3.9 system to the newer 3.1.4 components and all went fairly well, though had to do a few modifications for Amithlon specific stuff. I also added the new intuition.library to the ROM and it works great on a P96 RTG screen.

My ROM burner is either bad or all the EPROMs I have are.......I haven't been able to burn ROMs for my A4000D and A4000T yet. Those I'm undecided if I want to start a fresh 3.1.4 build or do another 3.9 > 3.1.4 mix.

Here's the A1200 version running in FS-UAE... Workbench 3.1.4 is quite ducky! :D

This setup has 2MB Chip RAM and 8MB Fast RAM.

Has anyone successfully performed an upgrade from plain 'ol 3.1 to 3.1.4? Is it even possible?

Sure is possible.
I am/was beta tester and can tell you it works.
Please make a backup before doing something like this. :)
The interesting part is what you already have installed besides the pure OS. Like patches and such. There is a script on Aninet to facilitate the upgrade.
Patches may require manual work.

Cheers,
McT

Are the patches an absolute necessity?
