New Desk for the old Girl

Around 10 years ago I decided I had enough of emulation and took the Amiga out of storage. I already had a retro DOS/WIN3/Win98 computer taking up space in that same room, as well as an NES/Genesis in another corner. Space was limited, but more than that, I just didn't have anything to put the thing on! I just put it on an old metal children's fold up table I had from forever ago... In fact when the Amiga was first given to me by my father, it was placed on that very table.

Fast forward several years and I've added a GVP hard drive to the expansion slot... Which hung over the side of the desk. This was actually fine for whatever reason, as long as it was placed correctly. But it was during my Marble Madness review that I got really sick and tired of this desk. I had very little room with which to maneuverer the mouse, and the mouse is quite important for Marble Madness. I disconnected the hard drive at one point just to have more room for the mouse.

Never again. Picked this up from a friend, which actually happens to match the basic design of another desk in my place. I believe they were both taken from hospitals back in the day. I once had the Amiga on the previously mentioned similar desk as a matter of fact... Seemed perfect for the old girl. Room... So much room... I love it...

Posted a short video to Twitter if you want to hear it grooving out a little. Also a couple clues to upcoming reviews...

That setup looks sweet! Awesome pickup on the desk.

That's a *great* photo, Shot. It reminds me of that now famous image Image.

I'm probably going to rotate my machines due to space constraints. As I type this, my desk is sharing this laptop, an A1200, C64 (both sharing an LCD screen) and another portrait display. It's crowded here :)

I'm glad to hear your good news, that looks much more comfortable.
