Any news on this yet? Last I heard they were going to start shipping a couple of weeks ago yet I have not seen it in stock on the store or received notification of stock. Just wondering as I am really wanting to use one of these as honestly the WiModem for the 64 was one of the best products to come along. I have told many people about it.

Jim shipped out a few early adopter modems about a week ago. I actually have one of them and have been testing it and sending QA reports his way. As of two days ago, I got it to a very happy place with ANSI-based boards. At this stage he's deciding what features to include in the production product's firmware. It's probably any day now.

Thanks for getting these out! Looking forward to having BBS fun on the Amiga the same way (sometimes better) as on the C64 with the original WiModem.

If you want a quick and easy way to transfer files to/from your Amiga (or any other computer you might have the WiModem232 plugged into) to/from your PC, grab WiBridge: http://home.reidspace.com/index.php?id=c64-stuff

Run this program on your PC. It will show you the IP address of the portal to your PC. Run a terminal program on your Amiga and type:

ATDT192.168.xxx.yyy:6464 (and press ENTER)

Where xxx and yyy are the last two values in the IP address shown when running the WiBridge program.

You will see CONNECT and then some text. You have complete access to your PC's filesystem to browse files. You can upload/download files via Zmodem or Xmodem by using the WiBridge's pull-down menu.

I was able to run 57600 baud with JR-Comm and 115200 baud with NComm and BaudBandit.device. I was getting around 10200 CPS. We would have killed for that speed back in the day! LOL!

Wow! That is cool and fast. I could never manage to get more then 19200 on an A500 via null modem and Amiga Explorer. Of course that was stock 1.3 serial device. What Amiga were you using, CPU etc?

I am using an Amiga 1200 for testing.

I am pretty sure that BaudBandit.device can achieve 115200 baud on a stock A500 as long as you are using a 2 or 4 color screen. Any more than that, the DMA steals too much time from PAULA accesses (which does the serial transfers).

Ah, good to know. I have an A1200 too so I will try that out.

As for the orders, are they shipping this week too? I got a notice earlier in the week via usps Click-N-Ship but it only states that a label was created.

I am shipping daily. USPS leaves much to be desired with their tracking info.
