Floppy selector with both active

Is there a way on an A1000 to have the external floppy as DF0 and internal as DF1? All of the floppy boot selectors I have seen disable the internal drive when the external is DF0.

There is a snazzy little mod you can make that provides a switch to flip the drive numbers.

Steve Stolz made a short video showing how he went about it.

What's cool about this is you can flip it back any time to the normal default state by just flipping the little switch.

Here is where that switch came from that Steve uses in the video above.

It's exactly what I was looking for ! Thank you !

I'll try with this one and will give some feedback after installation.

I received 2 DF0 Selector : one from AmigaStore.eu and one from Amedia Computer.

Image
The DF0 Selector from Amigastore.eu doesn't fit in the A1000 (it'll be in contact with pins of the daughter-board)... I'll put it in my A500 or I'll sell it, don't know for the moment.

Image
The one from Amedia doesn't look as "a well finish stuff" in comparison with the AmigaStore's one (the PCB is very nice, but this is the PCB that touches pins...). But this one from Amedia fits perfectly in the 1000 and it's working, so ;)

Now, I just have to put the HxC in the 1010!

Where are you going to mount the switch (gasp!)?

Maybe just lead the wire out the back?

As you maybe know, I don't want to modify the case of the 1000 (I'll even put a real floppy drive in the case), so I have an idea, but I'll need to add a connector for the wire of this switch.

The wire will go through the external connector, then inside the 1010, and the switch will be mount behind the 1010 ;) (and with the connector, I'll be able to dismount easily the 1010!)

The df0/df1 switcher that intrict8 linked isn't in stock. Can someone link a switcher that works in A1000 that I can order? Sadly my amiga 1000 drive gave the ghost when my toddler fell on it while it was open... yeah, don't want to talk about it, but I found a 3d print mod to fit in a goex, but I still want access to my actual floppies too.

Hi @Appee !

This is the one I bought for my A1000 (from AMedia) : https://www.amedia-computer.com/fr/flop ... &results=1

The more important for the A1000 with a daughterboard : the DFOSelector must no have a PCB cause the PCB is too large and DFOSelector can't be mounted in the A1000.

Hope it can help you ! ;)
