The perfect solution would be if you could add the uSD or USB plug in place of the floppy eject button.

Then you could put a CF card reader where the disk was in case you have an IDE adapter.

By the way - I love my HxC. I got the one with display as external drive.

I've been noodling the idea of making a bracket for the HxC slim drive for the 1000 to replace these aging floppy drives. It uses an SD card over USB so it looks clean from the front. There is a single button for advancing track that I would hook the floppy eject button to so that the eject button would still have some use. Probably could reuse some of the Señor 1000 designs. I just don't think there is much desire for such a solution so I haven't done it.
