Oookay. So the computer works great. The keyboard, not so much. The Caps Lock light stays on and no input when pressing keys.

Any thoughts? Calling all A1000 experts.

Since no one seemed to answer my post, I'll answer it.

It turns out it is the keyboard controller. The system was verified by building a 5-pin DIN to RJ adapter.

An A3000 keyboard was connected and worked like a charm. So, a repair is in order for the original A1000 keyboard.

Thanks for your help!

I actually think I have an A1000 with similar symptoms. Are you able to plunder a controller from a different keyboard?

I haven't tried yet. I would to just replace all the electrical components on the keyboards. I assume it's the controller chip. Seeing as there are only a few components anyway, replacing them all shouldn't be too much work.
