I recently won an auction for a re-capped early Amiga 500 with the Commodore Key, Hi-Tek mechanical keyboard, Red power LED, and embossed Commodore logo. See the attached pictures.

Super excited to get an early Amiga 500 like the one I originally had.

Now I can finally sell my beater Amiga 500 with the AdRam 540 installed.

Nice! I have yet to see one of those in the wild. I got my A500 in middle 1988 and it had two Amiga keys with 1.2 ROM. Were those variants ever available stateside? I don't remember at the time as I didn't keep track of international releases but according to Wiki the A500 released in Netherlands first, so was it on these?

At any rate that is cool. The only variant A500 I have is one that has a case that has a full Name plate that has the C= logo:

Yes they did sell the chicken lips in the US for a very short time. The European version either had a big enter and a pound symbol on number 3, or they had an ISO layout. This keyboard has the North American layout.

I’ve never seen a name plate version in the wild so we are even!

I had no idea that existed.

I'm sure it will fetch ridiculous sums of money! It reminds me of the toy collectors who seek out every packaging/misprint and SKU variations possible. Wait a minute...that was me in the early 90s :/

Anyone want to buy a Boba Fett with the misprint half circle/full circle? Or the short lightsaber in a long tray variant? hehe

Hah! One of the things I have in a giant plastic tub is a ridiculous collection of Star Trek the Next Gen action figures I bought back in the day (with a bunch of DS9, too). I really loved hunting them down... A million years ago I had each one pinned to my wall like some horrific gaudy wallpaper.

And I found a weird "mystery Data" at an Albertsons once covered in dust in their pathetic toy section that I seem to recall had a different arm than he was supposed to have.

I did get my Geordi signed by Mr Levar Burton back in 2006, though. I should probably dump the rest at some stage. They're pretty worthless. I did have fun finding them. I think the hunt and capture is generally more fun that the keeping forever.

I acquired an early model embossed chicken lips A500, but oddly it doesn't have the C= key. There are so many variations but no definitive visual compendium it's hard to tell what's what.

I'm in the process of trying to build that visual resource. I could really use all of your help, too, along the way.
Will post what I have soon. (includes keyboard differences, motherboard revisions, etc.)

What is the S/N on the bottom of your A500?
