The Amiga 2000 floppy drive does the same thing, reads Kickstart fine, then it gets the error, if I cancel enough it eventually tells me "Not a DOS disk in Unit 0"

Going to convert a PC floppy to work with the Amiga 1000, I have a handful of Sony 920 drives, if I can get this to work, I'll make one for the Amiga 2000 as well, because I seem to be having the same issue with both drives.

To be fair, when I got the Amiga computers, the guy couldn't say for sure if everything was in complete working order, but I needed one of the monitors from the lot for my 128DCR, and the price was right for the lot.

Sony MPF920 T/B53 has successfully been converted to an Amiga floppy drive (DD only), I will repeat the process for the Amiga 2000.

I find this kind of cool, it doesn't work with the Amiga aesthetic obviously, but I'll take this as a win in this battle.

Hey, I recognize those disks with the snazzy labels! ;)

Glad to see you got her up and running again. What's going on with your video's color palette?
