Hi I registered on the forum in 2020 but forgot to introduce myself 🤪

I'm from Sweden I got an Amiga 500 in 1988 which I still have I got an Amiga 1200 later which I still have (both have been recapped by me).
I have now acquired an Amiga 2000 and an Amiga 600

Amiga 500 has a case from a1200.net because the top shell started to crumble, it has an MC68010 with 8MB RAM and IDE.
Amiga 1200 that is now in a Checkmate A1500 case with an Apollo IceDrake 512MB RAM version,
Amiga 2000 has a Apollo Salamander 1GB RAM Version, Prelude Soundcard, Buddha Plus One
Amiga 600 has a Apollo MantiCore 1GB RAM version

I even got an Apollo StandAlone V4 512MB RAM version.

I'm actually a radio and TV repairman who has been trained in network technology.

Hey!! Thanks for the very cool belated intro.

For your Apollo MantiCore... man, I would be SO curious if it could run Dungeon Master 2. And I don't mean load it (any Amiga can run it) but I mean run it. My 060 machine couldn't do it. I'd get to the Axe Men and everything would drop to a couple frames per second. Only time I could ever beat the game was on a (cough) Mac PPC with 500Mhz - way more than the game ever pretended to need when it was sold on store shelves. But that was the only time I could actually play it correctly.

I did play DM2 on an Amiga 2000 with an 030 @ 40Mhz and got all the way to the final boss even under horrific playability conditions. But for me, it was unbeatable like that. It wasn't until the game played at a normal level was it actually beatable. It was still insanely hard, but not impossible.

Anyway, I don't expect you to play DM2 until you get to the Axe Men to see if it works or slows to a crawl. But I'm very intrigued by your Manticore A600 in particular. Your whole collection (and history) is cool!

Welcome, morten.dynamite!

You brief introduction triggers more questions for me.

First: pictures!! Got any pics of your system? Do you have them all set up, ready for switching on and going? Or are they in the storage.

Second: what brought you to the Amiga - and what _kept_ you at the Amiga??

By the way. With your username you sound rather danish (Danish Dynamite!).

Yes all of the system are set up, only the A500 is missing a monitor
The A2000, A1200, V4SA is set up to the same monitor with an external HDMI switch, I am working on a keyboard switch for that setup.
The A600 has its own monitor.

”what brought you to the Amiga” after reading about it I just wanted it because I liked the Workbench and the games for it.

”and what _kept_ you at the Amiga?”
I just like the whole Amiga from the OS to programming for it, it's fun to do stuff with the Amiga.

”By the way. With your username you sound rather danish” I am actually born in Norway but moved to Sweden when I was 11 years old.

Pictures I don have it right know but plan on take some pictures some day 😁

The A2000 I got was in not working order so I fixed it and put a pistorm in it and that was very unstable so I changed som of the 74 logic because the that where darkened legs from the leaking battery but that makes the system even more unstable with pistorm so I got the salamander and that made the system stable, it was stable with the MC68000.

The original MC68000 CPU in the A2000 was not working ok, the legs was black of corrosion så probably some got in the plastic case, that can happens.

The MPU for the keyboard in the A1200 started acting up a few years after I got it, so I removed it and “borrowed” the PCB from the A500 keyboard, I bought a new keyboard PCB from eBay a number of years ago (about 5 years).

When I finally take some pictures, should I start a new thread in Hardware or post them here?
